Have you ever been in a relationship, either romantic or with a best friend, and you got to that point where you started making promises to each other? Promises of getting married, of children, where the honeymoon will be, etc. Or if it is with a friend in high school and you promise you will always stay close and no matter where you go you will remain best friends.

Have you ever made all of these promises only to see the words fizzle out and die as time passes? This song is an attempt to capture that feeling of giving someone so much of yourself that those promises became more than just words, they became dreams. And there is nothing more hopeless than broken dreams.
